USS Midway

If submarines weren't cool enough, here is the USS Midway, which is museum ship now.
There's a plethora of both historcal and modern aircraft on board to check out.

This carrier was the centre of operation desert storm, and one of its crew that was involved was on board to talk about its role in the conflict.

We traverse the three man areas, being the deck, the hanger, and the winding corridors through crew bunks to the command and control centres. There's 31,000 miles of cabling on board, and it hosted 6000 crew in total.
Like cabling, there's no shortage of boom-dongles.
Truly a sight to behold, and one I doubt many kiwis can say they've seen up close.
God Bless America.
