San Diego Zoo

What an amazing place this is.
From beasts to birds, we're both really surprised at the quality of this world famous zoo. It's nice to see the big fellas with enough space to roam a bit, particularly the polar bear which had ice/snow makers in a cave. He's a little brown from this side, but he's still got the white elsewhere.
Multiple aviaries made for lots of fun trying to spot and identify the many, many birds on display.
Particular highlights for me were the huge monitor lizard, feasting on its dinner.
And a snow leopard, skulking about in the shade.
After about 5hrs in the park, we make our way home, after wandering aimlessly through the pedestrian zoned museum buildings nearby. These are gorgeous.
San Diego has been an amazing city to visit, and I can see why many would want to stay/live here. Huge thanks to our friendo host for all their help.

We're off to Mexico City today!
